My summary for Did I Mention I Need You?
Eden has not seen Tyler in almost a year, so spending six weeks with him in New York sounds amazing. Time Square is not the only thing sparking up, Eden starts having the same feelings for Tyler as she did in Santa Monica, but what about her boyfriend Dean?
Go READ IT!!

The first two books in this trilogy were so much fun to read. I loved reading forbidden romance stories, but really just romance in general. Anyway, I really liked Eden I thought she was such a cool girl, she just beat to her own drum. I felt bad for her when she had to spend the summer with her Dad because that would stink to have to go live with your father and his new family for the summer even if it meant going to California. Once she gets there it gets really good once she meets the fam and all. I loved how Tyler was so rude and he was all cool and he was acting like he was so cool, but I loved Eden's description of him she says, "Thats the third one?" (22). I thought that was so funny I mean this girl who sees this guy just come in being just outrageously rude. Once Eden and him start getting together it gets a lot better because he starts acting better and caring for her. Once it was said about his previous father it made me so sad because he was not a bad kid he just grew up having a hard time, and he felt the need to cover up some of his "internal bruises" by drinking and doing drugs. I loved the story that three months waiting for Did I Mention I Need You? was really difficult.
Okay so now I will do my review for Did I Mention I Need You? I have been waiting a good three months for this book, which is not long compared to other books, but it was so hard to get over this story. I mean it jumps from things being all good to I can't do this anymore. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait because this book literally gave me all the feels. I was sitting in school just reading, and then class would start and a line like this would be the last thing my eyes would catch, "In fact, it takes at least ten seconds for my eyes to fully take in the scene, and at least twelve for Tyler to pull away from Tiffany" (263). I literally threw the book on the ground. It is so hard to restrain yourself to not read when you have to do homework or something. I can't tell you how much I loved this story because it was so intriguing like one second you forget about this other character then all of the sudden they make an appearance and it makes you sit on the edge of your seat.
Let me go back, so the beginning of the story started out a little awkward because Dean is just not Tyler. I mean that is all there is to it. Dean just does not interest me as much as Tyler, I mean Dean is so sweet but I never liked them together. Also, it made me uneasy how Dean just dropped Eden off at the airport without getting out of the car. I think that is mostly why I don't like him. He never really showed affection towards her in the way Tyler does, but I do love their $5 thing. After Dean leaves I love the suspense and anticipation to getting to Tyler because Eden is nervous, so I was nervous. I loved how it introduced him when Eden says, "His grin and his jaw and the color of his eyes and the way one eyebrow slowly arches reminds me of so many things I used to adore about him. Perhaps I still do love these things" (11). This quote just makes me smile like I read it for the first time. It just reminds me of how many things have changed since the first time they meant. He went from hating her to just loving her. I think it reveals so much about their relationship already he truly has changed his life.
Moving on, Snake was such a cool character to have in the story because he brought comedy when there was tension, and he was just whatever. He was a really great in accepting Tyler and Eden because he made light of it and joked around. Emily is also another character I loved because she reminds me of myself. She was totally cool with the love affair of them and even though she thought it was weird she kept it to herself and minded her own business. She seemed like such a good friend toward Eden and was always willing to talk to her and help her through situations and support her. I hope she will make an appearance in the next book. Rachael, I have never really liked her I don't think she was entirely necessary in the story she seems to just take sides, so when she gets mad at Eden for cheating on Dean (which I get) but also she did not tell Eden about Tiffani which makes me so angry. Tiffani is on my hit list she is so selfish and rude. I can't believe the things that she did just to hurt the people around her. Honestly though, I loved having her in the story because it shows Tyler's defeat and Eden's love for Tyler. Tiffani had good intensions deep, deep, deep down because she was protecting Dean in a horrible way but she never went through with her threat of telling Dean it was Tyler which was smart. I love that when Eden catches Tyler making out with Tiffani that she immediately says, "What I told you last night was complete bullshit"(265).
Now on to my favs, Tyler is really awkward at first around Eden which is understandable considering that she told him to go to New York and get over her, I love how concerned Eden is about him being okay because she still cares for him. Tyler is so sincere like when he took her to the Italian food place, put her sneakers on the line, the tattoo of her name, made that video of everything he loved about her. I think that Tyler really did change for the sake of being a person he wanted to be for Eden. Now, I also think that he did not really change he just uncovered a part of himself that he would not let anyone see. Tyler has traded environments from Santa Monica to New York, a place to start new, so I understand why he got so angry when he went back to Santa Monica because it was where his Dad is and where all the trouble started. I love that when he got mad about his Dad being back he says, "I want him to see me now. I just want to stand in front of him for the first time in seven years. I need him to know that he messed up because he doesn't get to be apart of our lives anymore" (317). This reveals how far Tyler has come that he wants to show how much better he has gotten, how good his life is, how he finally has his life some-what in order. Compared to the last book Tyler has become someone, someone good and kind. I love hearing Eden's point of view in the stories because she isn't annoying she is stuck in a really weird situation. She can't really help her desire to be around Tyler he has just been there for her when not a lot of people have. She has grown up in a not so great environment like Tyler, but she is doing what she can to make it good for her. At the end of the last book, I was mad that she let him leave but seeing what he has become in this book made it really fun for me. It was not hard to get him back which showed me how much he really loves her, and how she is willing to jeopardize a relationship for something that seems unrealistic. She is a great character and I enjoy hearing her thoughts over the horrible things that happen to her. I also admire her strength she has moved, lived with her father for a month, made some rude friends, and Tyler has put her through some tough obstacles. I also admire her passion for just being who she is I think any person who reads this book can take away her passion for sticking with something so frightening but exhilarating. Also, I admire Tyler's growth of finding who he truly is and coming to terms with something so traumatizing.
The ending was a little upsetting to me but the more I think about it, it becomes so brilliant. The author, Estelle, shows two views of the characters breaking up with another. I love how each character breaks up with another because they are not giving up, but they are giving real reasons why they should break up. Eden broke up with Tyler, so he could be apart of something life-changing and helpful to his life. Tyler breaks up with Eden to find himself and figure things out. Eden has always been the rational one because she always put what was best for Tyler ahead of whats best for herself, but Tyler's reasons for breaking up with Eden make me angry because he keeps saying, "I need you." and Eden says, "I love you." I think Tyler just got caught up with his thoughts of being in close proximity to his Dad and his mother telling him to leave. Also, when Tyler hit Dave I think that ignited something from before. It was like the people Tyler was around were the people that made him do drugs and drink. Eden was the only one giving him a break and helping him. I am still sad Tyler made a getaway at the end, but I am so excited to see where the last book goes. Truly an amazing book trilogy!
Much Love,
Channy
